Usage

Warning
Excess 5-HTP, especially when administered with vitamin B6, causes the liver to metabolize 5-HTP into serotonin, which can cause heart valve damage or disease (cardiac fibrosis). When combined with a MAOi or an SSRI, 5-HTP can cause acute serotonin syndrome.
